Our Theme for the 2010 Fernley 4th of July Celebration is: "Happy Birthday U.S.A."
The Fernley 4th of July celebration is an annual event put on by a group of volunteers committed to celebrating our Nation the Old Fashioned Way.
The celebration starts with a parade down Main St., and then continues with a full day of events at the Out-Of-Town park including, vendor booths, great food, live music, a show and shine car show, an all new Horseshoe Tournament, and lots of fun and games for adults and children alike (like the annual greased pig contest).
The day ends with a beautiful and awe inspiring fireworks show.
Parade
The parade gets started at 10:00am down Main St.
Each year there are more and more entry's into the parade including, classic cars, horses, color guards, floats, cheerleaders, bands and lots more!
And kids, don't forget your bags to fill with all the candy that the parade entries just may pass out to you!
Park Activities
The activities get started at 12:00 noon, with all vendors being set up and open!
Cub Country will be having a live broadcast during the afternoon festivities
Schedule of Events
1:00pm - Flag Raising
1:00pm - Horseshoe Tournament Begins
1:00pm to 5:00pm - Kids Games - Free - Water balloon toss; sack races; and lots more!
2:00pm - Parade Trophy's awarded
2:00pm - Pie Baking Contest begins (hosted by the Fernley Senior Center)
3:00pm - Greased Pig Contest
4:00pm - Raffle starts - new drawing every 15 min. until prizes are gone with Grand Prize drawing at 6:30pm!
5:00pm - Watermelon Eating Contest
6:00pm - Live Music with Rick Hays and American Steel
Fireworks start at Dusk!!!!!
