As always, EVERYONE is welcome to attend our weekly Fernley Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors" Networking Breakfast meetings...…even if you are not yet a member.
This week's speaker is:
City of Fernley Mayor Neal McIntyre
The issues that Mayor McIntyre will be speaking on shall be:
- The Fernley Lands Bill and where things stand with that
- The CRRC Project
- The City private well questionnaire, and possible assistance available to users through the USDA
- The R.A.I.S.E Grant
- Spooktacular!
- The recent Cottonwood Lane grand re-opening
Mayor Neal E. McIntyre was elected to the City of Fernley mayor's seat in
November 2022 and sworn into office on December 7, 2022.
Mayor McIntyre was born in San Diego, CA at Camp Pendleton. He moved with his family to Fernley in 1959 and has lived in the Fernley community for over 64
years - attending elementary, middle school and high school in the city where he
now serves as Mayor. He attended the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls,
ID where he earned his degree in Ag Business.
Mayor McIntyre was a Supervisor at Q&D Construction for 24 years before
retiring. He has also served his community as a Lyon County School District
Trustee for 14 years and a volunteer firefighter with the North Lyon County Fire
Protection District for several years.
He is currently active with the Lyon County Debt Management Commission, the
Nevada League of Cities Legislative Committee, as a Representative for the
Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA) as well as the serving on
Board of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN).
An avid outdoor enthusiast, Mayor McIntyre enjoys taking advantage of the
recreational opportunities northern Nevada has to offer; from bow hunting to
ice fishing. Mayor McIntyre and his wife Victoria have five children, 25
grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; most of whom live in the Fernley
area to this day.
There will be Fernley Ambassadors to personally greet you at the front doors of The Fernley Art Center and guide you through the check-in process. The check-in table will feature 4 Fernley Ambassadors to assist you with the check-in process, including 50/50 raffle tickets, Bragging Bucks, etc.
Non-Chamber members are welcome to attend and learn about the many benefits available to you, your business or your organization as a Fernley Chamber of Commerce member.
If you are a business owner/operator, we strongly encourage you to bring a Door Prize for our raffle ticket giveaways at the end of the meeting. It will allow you and your business to maximize your exposure at the event.
