Please join us Wednesday February 22, 2023  for our Quarterly Luncheon with Guest Speaker Fred Steinmann presenter for The Fernley Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Beginning in early 2022, the City of Fernley began work on developing a new five-year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy that outlines specific actionable items that the City of Fernley and its various partners, including the Fernley Chamber of Commerce, will pursue in order to implement elements of the City’s 2014 Downtown Fernley Revitalization Study.  This new five-year Comprehensive Economic Development, which focuses primarily on supporting the revitalization of Fernley’s main street corridor, outlines several specific actionable items for each of the four project goals and priority areas outlined in the 2014 Downtown Fernley Revitalization Study as well as for five local and regional community and economic development capacity areas including small business and entrepreneurial-based development, tourism-based development, workforce development, housing development, and related infrastructure.  Dr. Frederick Steinmann, Director of the University Center for Economic Development at the University of Nevada, Reno, will present a general overview of these specific actionable items as they relate to the City’s and Chamber’s efforts to successfully revitalize the existing main street corridor..
